How do you like your sandstone? How about with easy access, harbour views, steep and pumpy, and close to home?

Nestled around a picturesque harbour, Australia's largest city has hundreds of neat little sandstone cliffs providing pleasant single-pitch sport and trad climbing and awesome bouldering. Sydney's famous beaches are also punctuated with tottering sea cliffs, offering more adventurous climbing right beneath suburbia!

The picture is Catherine Destivelle on Clocks(22) at Balls Head. The photograph is by Simon Carter. For more fantastic pictures of climbing around Sydney, NSW and Australia, check out his website Onsight Photography.
